What to Expect
Recovery begins today
At Ashley, we believe that treating you with dignity and respect are the hallmarks of lifesaving treatment and sustainable recovery. We invite you to begin to rebuild your self-respect and dignity here on our campus.
After reviewing general information about the intake process at Ashley, consult with your Intake Coordinator to prepare for your time with us.
General Admissions
How long does the intake process take upon arrival?
The entire admission process can take between 1 and 2 hours. We want to make sure we gather as much detailed information as possible to create an individualized treatment plan as well as following Joint Commission standards.
Do I need a referral from a doctor or therapist to enter treatment?
You do not need any referrals to enter treatment, unless your insurance company requires it. Our intake team will be able to let you know, during your prescreening, if it is required.
What are the payment options?
We accept most private insurance plans, as well as self-pay options. Insurance companies authorize days in small increments of time and our Patient Accounts team is available to meet with and are very transparent about any financial obligations or shifts in insurance coverage.
We are able to provide payment plans in circumstances when a patient’s financial situation becomes a barrier to treatment. For more information, visit Payments & Insurance.
Can I tour the facility before committing to treatment?
We can allow patients/families access to a tour prior to committing to treatment.
Preparation and Arrival
What happens when I first arrive at Ashley?
During the admissions process, you will meet with an intake coordinator that you have likely been speaking with over the phone. The intake team will greet you and your family to answer any last-minute questions. You will sign a few consents, sign releases of information and then be taken down by the admission nurse. Once you complete the nursing assessment, you will be brought back down to intake and continue with the remaining consents. After the consents are complete, you will complete your Trac 9 assessment. Your luggage will be searched and taken to your room. You will then complete a biopsychosocial assessment with one of our clinicians and receive a tour of the facility. You will also receive a history and physical within 24 hours of your admission.
What should I bring with me, and what items are not allowed?
Things to bring: ID, insurance cards, form of payment, 7 to 10 days’ worth of clothing (laundry service is provided), unopened hygiene products, unopened tobacco products, reading material, medications (in the original bottles), cell phone (it will be securely locked for the duration of treatment), credit card/debit card or cash.

Will I have a roommate, or do I get a private room?
We offer semiprivate rooms to all patients. Private rooms are only given to patients with high medical acuity needs.
Our semiprivate rooms are set up like hotel rooms, two beds on opposite sides of the room. The bathroom is inside the bedroom, and you only share the bathroom with your roommate. You have your own closet, dresser and sink space. We provide all linens, towels, sheets and blankets.
Treatment Experience
What types of therapy and treatments does Ashley Addiction Treatment offer?
We offer various individual and group therapy services to help you address trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, anger, stress and chronic pain. These include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT is a structured, goal-oriented approach designed to help you identify and challenge negative thought patterns. By replacing these with healthier, more balanced thoughts, CBT helps alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and other emotional struggles.
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): DBT is a form of therapy that focuses on teaching skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. It is particularly beneficial for those struggling with emotional instability, relationship difficulties, and intense feelings of anger or despair.
- Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD: Specifically tailored for individuals with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Cognitive Processing Therapy helps clients process and reframe traumatic memories. This therapy aims to reduce PTSD symptoms and provide tools for managing triggers, nightmares, and flashbacks.
- Schema Therapy – Individual & Group Therapy: Schema Therapy works by identifying and changing deep-seated patterns of thinking and behavior that develop from early life experiences. Whether in individual or group settings, it helps individuals break free from these harmful patterns to improve emotional health and relationships.
- Specialized Depression and Anxiety Specialty Group Therapy: This group therapy is focused on providing support and strategies specifically for individuals struggling with depression and anxiety. You’ll engage with others who understand your challenges and learn coping techniques in a safe, supportive environment.
- Gender-Specialized Trauma Group Therapy: This group therapy is designed to address the unique needs of individuals who have experienced trauma, with a focus on gender-specific experiences. Whether you identify as female, male, or nonbinary, this therapy helps to process trauma in a way that acknowledges and honors your gender identity.
What happens if I need medical care while in treatment?
Patients meet with a medical provider once a week to manage any preexisting, or new, medical concerns. All medications are ordered through our pharmacy and administered by our nursing staff.
If there was ever a need for emergency care, we are about 15 minutes away from, more than one, local hospital. We send our patients to the hospital to stabilize and once medically ready to return, we create a seamless process with returning to care.
Visitations
When can my family visit me, and what are the rules?
We do not offer visitation currently, but every patient has access to our landline phones daily and access to their personal cell phone, once a week
Can I receive mail or care packages while in treatment?
Patients are allowed to receive mail and packages. All mail and packages that are received are searched by our staff and then given to the patient.
Care Package and other drop offs at the guard shack are only permitted between 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., Monday–Friday and 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday to ensure that the drop offs go directly to a staff member.
