Martin and Mae Ashley Abraham, began with a chance meeting in 1964 that sparked a lifelong friendship and a shared vision for compassionate addiction recovery. Mae’s personal journey with alcoholism, influenced by Father Martin’s teachings on treating addiction as a disease without shame, led to the establishment of Ashley Addiction Treatment. In 1983, Father Martin’s Ashley opened quietly but soon gained acclaim, named one of the top facilities in the country within two years. Now known as Ashley Addiction Treatment, this nonprofit organization has impacted over 50,000 patients and 100,000 family members. Our mission remains steadfast: to provide comprehensive, respectful care to all individuals seeking recovery, guided by the principle that everyone deserves a chance at a healthy, fulfilling life.

Having recently celebrated our 40th anniversary, Ashley is looking ahead to the next 40 years with a bold vision for transforming Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment and uniting the pioneering spirit of Father Martin and Mae Abraham with the scientific research of today.

Ashley believes that everyone should have access to care and treatment regardless of their financial situation. In the past twenty years, we have provided over $65 million in charity care, including $2.6 million in 2022, to those who cannot afford treatment. This significant investment in our community has a positive impact on individuals, families, and society.
