Updates Regarding Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

What we’re doing to keep everyone safe

Keeping the Ashley community informed of its health and safety is of the utmost importance to us. We will update this page as new information becomes available.

Updated August 29, 2022

Welcome to Ashley!

We are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our patients and staff. We have a team dedicated to identifying and implementing best practices and recommendations from the CDC, the State of Maryland and the Harford and Cecil County Health Departments.

Please review the packet below for the most up-to-date information regarding our current safety guidelines.

What you can expect from us

We take the health and safety of our patients, families and staff very seriously. We continue to track guidelines issued by CDC and our county health departments. Our environmental care staff is well-trained in infection control, prevention practices as well as disinfection routines.

To mitigate risk and/or potential spread, weโ€™ve:
1) Implemented strict screening guidelines for incoming patients.
2) Continued to test patients at admission and encourage testing for any symptomatic
patients or staff.
3) Developed detailed algorithms to shape our response and campus readiness,
including a transmission response.
4) Implemented a vaccine mandate for all Ashley staff.

For the safety of our staff, patients and their families, all visitation is suspended. This includes:
ยท Patient visitation
ยท In-Person participation in the Family Wellness Program (Family Services now occur
virtually)
ยท Participation in the Children and Youth Program
ยท External Sunday chapel attendance

In addition, weโ€™ve canceled any in-person alumni and family activities until further notice. For events occurring on or off-campus, we will update our community when we have more information. Alumni Chapter Meetings and Parent and Family Connection meetings are being conducted virtually.

What is the threat level to you or your loved one?

We canโ€™t say that our environment poses no threat but we can confidently say that Ashley is taking any and all steps to ensure a safe environment for our patients and staff.

Ashley is operating as a health care provider would, meaning we are reaching for the highest possible standard in terms of environmental response and overall safety.

Specific to our Outpatient Locations – As of April 2022, we are now offering live services, which includes: individual assessments, individual counseling and group therapy.

How can you stop the spread of COVID-19?

Everyone plays a role in mitigating the spread of COVID-19, and other communicable diseases. Ensure that you are washing your hands properly (before and after eating, after using the restroom, after sneezing/coughing, anytime you touch your face or remove your mask, etc.), wearing your mask when required and reporting any symptoms to the Nursing staff. Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 can lower your risk of getting and spreading COVID-19 and is strongly recommended. Assuming personal responsibility for these things can help ensure that Ashley stays an exposure-free atmosphere.

What are we doing to stop the spread of COVID-19?

Our staff has all been vaccinated against COVID-19. Our staff is instructed to wear their masks at all times while indoors on Ashleyโ€™s campus. We have established a system for employees to report any symptoms they experience, in which they speak with our Infection Prevention Practitioner directly, who will direct them to stay at home and seek testing, if necessary. We are monitoring the CDC and Maryland Department of Healthโ€™s websites for any updated guidance, and diligently assessing our policies and protocols to update them based on the transmission rates within the community.
