The month of July kicks off a new and exciting fiscal year for Ashley. We have put a lot of effort into planning for our FY19 budget and I am pleased to say that financially we continue to improve. Executing in a timely manner the cost savings that improve the benefits and services will be crucial in order to meet our budgetary and service delivery goals. Ashley remains committed to high quality care in order to serve as many people as possible seeking help while also ensuring the organizations financial sustainability.
It is our goal over the next decade to keep the vision of Father Martin and Mae Abraham alive through expansion in multiples of 10, their desire to serve every individual and family member seeking help for this fatal yet treatable disease.
The strategic planning process to determine how we will achieve the above goals is moving along nicely. The Strategic Planning Group completed a two-day planning session with an outside consultant on July 19 and 20. As I write this note, we still have the Strategic Planning Survey open for your input. To date we have had 182 responses. Only data received with a full name and contact information will be utilized so that if we have any clarifying information needed, we can receive it. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of your input to our process! The survey may be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AshleyStratPlan.
We are tackling the process of renegotiating insurance contracts and it is our desire to remain in network with the payers that are providing service for substance use disorder populations. We are grateful to partner with the payers in more significant ways in order to help save lives. We are thankful that the relationships between us and the payers is becoming more collaborative as we both seek to reduce the suffering in our communities.
At Ashley, we conduct Patient Satisfaction Surveys each month in an effort to glean responses regarding the treatment each patient received during their stay as well as to gather opportunities for improvement. Congratulations to the Inpatient Counseling Staff, Intake Staff, the Bel Air and Elkton IOPs for achieving very high scores over the past several months. The most recent survey indicates there are opportunities for improvement and every survey provides positive highlights as well as opportunities for growth. We are doing a deeper dive on the opportunities for growth and asking everyone to join us in taking needed steps to turn those opportunities into exceedingly positive areas.
As FY18 closes out, we are now engaged in annual review process and we look forward to it being a very participatory process.
On Friday July 13th and Monday July 16th, department representatives from both Ashley and Seabrook met to compare notes on operations. This collaboration was set up in both centers to look at how others run a treatment organization. I am hopeful that a lot of creative ideas and best practices will emerge from this collaboration.
